Sunshine and Shadow
Jan Howard was a country star whose heyday was during the 1960s & 1970s. She was twice nominated for a Grammy award as the Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Many of her hits were written by her husband at the time Harlan Howard. She had several top-10 duet hits with Bill Anderson, including the number-one hit “For Loving You”.
Jan's personal life would in itself make a sad country song. Jan's memoir is rather long at 490 pages, but it is worth the read. It actually is a very good memoir about a depression era child who had a hard life and managed to forge a successful career in the music business.
Note: Jan has been a favorite on several of our Country’s Family Reunion and Larry’s Country Diner shows.
