While most folks have welcomed in the New Year with party poppers, cocktails, cheers and singing “Auld Lang Syne,” I spend my day reflecting on what a wonderful son I had. Today is the 10th anniversary of our son, Justin’s death. It came so quickly and without any preparation or planning. A last phone call that said, “I love you” and a homecoming that never happened. But what did happen over these last ten years is my ability to celebrate life. I walk into a cemetery now and I don’t see regret but lives that mattered. I don’t wallow in grief but I stare it in the face and smile.
If you have never been on a cemetery tour then you need to take one with me, Renae the Waitress from Larry’s Country Diner TV show. I am the tour guide for Nashville Memorial Tours. My tour takes you to the final resting places of some of the greatest Country Music Legends like, George Jones, Porter Wagoner, Little Jimmy Dickens, Tammy Wynette, Lynn Anderson and so many more.
In 2016 I wrote a book “Precious Memoires Memorial” a guide to over 80 country music legends resting places. It included maps and photos and personal notes. The time it takes to find so many of these great stars can be overwhelming. My guided tour is 2 ½ -3 hours and you will visit over 25 locations with more being added. We visit the actual gravesites and the beautiful Cross Mausoleum. And as a special bonus I take you to the “TOMB” an exact replicate of Jesus Tomb located in the Holy Lands.
I love to pay honor to these incredible country singers who gave of themselves by sharing their talents and lives. Celebrate 2018 with me, Renae the Waitress, on a guided cemetery tour and let’s celebrate the lives of these country music legends together.
